Tablewar Diorama Trays

Tablewar Diorama Trays

After seeing some of the Tablewar Dioramas via The Ebonstar on youtube I thought I was going to have to get some of them myself to try out.

The first thing was that they generally only deal with people in the US so we had an experement to see how long they would take to arrive over here in Australia. So with that I waited around and 2 weeks later the package arrived.

What I picked up was 3 of the trays with a selection of the rings going from 30mm to 50mm.

Now I’ve got a few ideas that I wanted to do with these but first lets show you the first one I’ve been working on.

To start with I assembled the metal base to the frame and placed some weight on it so the glue would take. Next was to arrange the rings where I wanted them (As always I forgot to take a picture of that)

Next up I grabbed some Spakfilla when I was sent out to get some groceries for the wife as you can see below and then taped up the rings so I could fill the Spak everywhere that wasn’t covered.

Even tho it said 30 minutes I left it over night and the next day added some small bits of cork to it for texture  as you can see below.

Next was adding the cork to the bases and since I’m forgetful you can see I’ve numbered them so I know where they go on the base and on the diorama base.

Next step was easy. I used a marker to outline the shapes of the cork and then taped up the frame and spread out some white glue over everything inside the marker lines. Then I added my sand/texture mix and while it was drying in place I took off the tape to give it the bordered edge

And lastly I finished off the bases for the figures and now it’s all ready for some paint and minis when they arrive!

So if your interest in doing some of these yourself feel free to go over to the Tablewar site and contact them. If your international like I am to them I’d email them from the contact details to see what it would cost to ship and if you want to take it further you can get some of their display cases!
