A Small Update and Malifaux

A Small Update and Malifaux

Yes it’s been a while since I was able to do any painting so I have had nothing but undercoated figures of late. I have been doing some converting but until I get the time to relax and get the paints out I won’t have any new figures.

That being said I have been planning out a gaming table where I have picked up 3 2 ft by 4 ft boards which I will be attaching brackets so it can fit over the dining room table which will give me 4×4 or 6×4 depending how big we want to play or what game we want to play.

That being said I have had Malifaux be introduced to me and I currently have a Death Marshal crew winging it’s way to me as we speak… Hopefully I’ll get that next week and I’ll have my 35 point force ready.

But while thinking about Malifaux I was thinking what Terrain I have that I can use for it. As I had started getting some sci fi stuff that wasn’t going to do so I started rattling around boxes that I’ve had for years to see if there is anything I forgot.

That’s where Mordheim comes in…

I had the box set sitting there and when I opened it up I still had all of the card buildings waiting to be built. That’s 5 buildings along with a bridge to join 2 of them that I can use and fit into the idea of Malifaux.

The next thing I will be picking up is some rock formations which I’ve found the best way to get these cheap is hitting up Aquarium stores for the better quality ones that they have. And as I have always been a fan of a lot of terrain on the table I’ll be getting some of the ones I came across the other day which were about 12cm x 6cm and ranged from 10-12cm high. Going at around $5 each you can’t go wrong.

I’m hoping to finish up the last of my Assault Squad highlighting to get the combat squad finished and then start up on my Terminator Captain/Librarian multi use character where you can swap out most parts.

Also if anyone has any good guides on making a textured surface for a gaming table can you please let me know in the comments?

That’s a great idea. I know the games of Malifaux I’ve played haven’t felt quite right… I think a big part of that is because we’ve been playing on basically a WHFB table, shrunk down.

I saw on another site that they were building a Malifaux table with the Worldworks Himmelveil Streets set and from that mounting them on 12″ boards so you can put something else on the other side and have unique gaming areas.

Here’s a link to where I first saw it. http://incunabulum.co.uk/
