A Tau Painting Update

With work and family keeping my time to paint to a minimum I thought I’d give some in progress photos of what I currently am working on.

I’ve been trying to get my XV8 bodyguards completed so then I can work on my XV8 Commander and then get onto the other suits or change it up and go to some Kroot or firewarriors.

I’ve also been working on a conversion for my pathfinder Devilfish so it will be distinguished from the standard one taking some inspiration from some of the other conversions that have came up of late but I’m going to leave the photos of that until I get all the parts for it.

With that being said here is the last of my bodyguard’s that needs to be finished.

I’ve kept this one with the one bone shoulder to match the first one I painted so they can be the bodyguard and then I’m going to change up the suits slightly for each team.

Next up we have my XV8 Commander. I have magnetized his arms so he can have fusion and Shield Generator or Plasma CIB.

I used a Drone as a Shield as I thought it was a better size for it. I do have one more set of arms spare so if anyone has any ideas for another load out that they have found useful let me know so I can give it a try.

I’ve also been working on a 3rd objective marker. This one I used a Tank Commander which I swapped out the head and also took the Turret and put it into one of those 20ml medicine cups that comes with cough medicine and from that I attached it to a 60mm flying base which I have as an exit for an underground base which the enemy have been looking for as there has been reports of Tau patrols in the area.

Lastly I’ve finally decided on how to do my Kroot Hounds. I ordered a head of Kroot heads from ebay and picked up a box of Vampire Counts Ghouls. With that being said I’m waiting for the rest of the heads to arrive but with the spares I had I’ve 3 all ready to be painted.
