As I was going through some of my boxes of Blood Bowl figures I came across the last thing I had painted before I started painting up my Tau.
These figures I painted around 4 odd years ago at the least with other figures being painted prior to that going back to the late 1990’s with the Mutant Chronicles: Warzone figures.
So I introduce my Necromantic Team:
Starting off we have my Zombies. As I wanted something different I went with Dark Eldar Grotesques as the zombies so I didn’t have generic Human zombies. They give more of the elvish return of the dead type feel.
For Wights I went for some Lord of the Ring’s figures which looked the part and gave a different feel.
Then we go onto the Ghouls. For these I used Mutant Chronicles: Warzone Karnophages which give a real feel of the psychotic corpse eating feel that Ghouls throughout legends have.
For Flesh Golems I stuck with Warzone figures again with 2 different ones. On the Right we have an Eaonian Justifier with the spiderish look and on the right and on the left I used a Spawn of Demnogonis which fits more along the lines of the Flesh Golem.
And lastly we have the stars of the Necromantic team with the Werewolves. I can’t remember what range of figures these came from but they both had their own feel to the pitch. The larger one was my second werewolf and at the time I was limited to finding that figure for a different werewolf. But with playing I’ve learn’t to love them all!
Let me know what you think in the comments!
Dude, a totally wasted opportunity for a bad pun.
“My Blood Bowl Necromantic Team – RESURECTED!”
I know!
I thought of that after I published it hehehe…
Maybe next time!
This is possibly the coolest blood bowl team I’ve ever seen. Definitely the coolest necromantic team. Do yourself a favour and re-base the werewolves – if needs be use round 40mm for both but it will just pull the team together that much more (beyond your amazing colour scheme/paint job and mini selection)
Thanks for that! When I originally put the team together I don’t remember there being 40mm round bases so that really is a good idea to rebase them since I have spare ones now.
Something else for me to do when I have a chance hehehe
I keep finding the 40mm Square Base does make the werewolf fit badly on the board
I find square bases in general are awkward on the blood bowl pitch. My only other suggestion would be create some good fluff for them. All my blood bowl teams fluff is based on a real NFL team and takes the players names/jersey numbers from them.
Hi, found your team while searching for team colour schemes. I agree that the werewolves could do with being on round bases as well.
If you aren’t aware Impact Miniatures sell 30mm round bases which are better for fitting onto the pitch. £1.38 / $2 for a pack of 15 is much better value than buying 40mm ones from GW.

I didn’t know there were 30mm ones around. I’m going to have to sit down with them and see what can fit where since I think the larger werewolf won’t fit on anything apart from a 40mm.
The smaller one can fit on a 25mm base easily. I think I didn’t have any spare when I put him together back in the day.
Thanks!
