Well it’s time to get back to some Malifaux figures that I have had painted before I moved but I’ve just been able to set up a basic photo setup.
This is the last of the Guild models that I had to paint (Yes I do have another Austringer and the Lucius box on order) and with Sonnia I wanted to have her standing out more than either Perdita or Lady Justice. I’m not sure if it’s written that way but she seems to me to be more of a flamboyant character. I’m not 100% happy with her face but I’m still getting into the painting of faces again.
Also the Witchling Stalkers I wanted to match in with her so I borrowed the paint recipe from my Blood Angels to get the colours standing out on the table.
Also with Samael Hopkins, As he’s a hunter and trapper I thought a darker pallette would fit more than something bright. But with doing him as dark as I have he still fits in with the rest giving a good contrast.
The Governor’s Proxy I was thinking that he was more of a bureaucrat hence the brown robes which don’t seem to ever have seen a speck of dirt.
Well that’s enough of my chatter so on with the pictures!
Click on them for larger images as usual.
The reds look very good. I have not painted up my own stalkers yet, and Sonia has not made her way into my guild collection. Of all the guild character models (Lady J, Perdita, Lucius) she is my least favorite. I may need to add her, as I have Sam and the Stalkers already.
I may steal your red mix for my own Stalkers, perhaps bringing them a bit down toward brown.
Great work!
Thanks for that Bill. I can see myself using everything apart from Sonnia before attempting to use her but when I picked up the box it was cheaper than getting everything else separate.
And go for taking the Red for the stalkers. If you want the recipe I used for it let me know. it shouldn’t be hard to take to a brown over going to the bright red I did.
Also I’ve realised I haven’t taken photos of Pertita’s Crew so I’ll be doing that over the next couple of days.
I really like your Samael! The Governers Proxy also looks sweet.
Thanks for that Winter!
