After spending too much time looking at my collection of bitz and wanting to do something different with the Knights of the Blood Sanguinary Priests I finally decided that they would be some of the ones to show the marks of the impending fall to chaos.
So looking at everything out there I decided that I would use the winged packs from the chaos Possessed figures so they have the wings which are going to be a jump pack and help with the overall feel of not knowing what side they are on.
Since there isn’t much information about the heretics and what is happening with them or what side they are on means I can use all the license I want to give the ‘unknown’ feel.
As you can see I had to get a chalice onto the figure somewhere and since I didn’t have one to put on it I saw on Heresy-Online had a guide on making a simple chalice.
As I wasn’t putting them in the characters hands I modified it slightly using the top part that was cut off the melta bomb as the base of the chalice which worked out really well if I do say so myself.
So there are the first 2 and I will have another to do as well and I am planning on what to do for a Librarian as well.
Now to get more of those backpacks!
If you have any comments feel free to leave them and any other ideas on other wings to use I’m always up for more ideas!
Hey….those look great. I am very impressed. Simple but stunning. How did you paint the reds? It looks fantastic.
thanks,
Rick
The Red’s are fairly easy with what I’m doing. I have the Tamiya Clear Red X-27 which is like a thicker wash which goes down first and then I do the grey so you have the colours blocked in and then I give it 1-2 coats of Badab Black as the Clear Red is very glossy so it goes in and shades it and then it’s just a highlight with blood red and it’s done.
On the wings I went for a drybrush over a highlight so I could make it blend better.
